Jan. 21-25: Hawaiian Electric drone work at Kahului site

KAHULUI, Jan. 19, 2021 - Hawaiian Electric is planning to use an unmanned aircraft, or drone, in the Hoohana Street area in Kahului between Thursday, Jan. 21 to Monday, Jan. 25, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting. The drone will be used for an aerial survey of a singular site in the area.

The Hawaiian Electric Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) program is in full compliance with all Federal Aviation Administration rules and has developed safety, training, operating and privacy procedures to make sure the unmanned aircraft are flown with the highest regard for the safety of the public and crews.
