Hawaiian Electric Co. Inc. has promoted Dan Giovanni to senior vice president of operations. The appointment is part of the company's strategic plans to increase levels of clean energy resources and modernize Oahu's electric infrastructure to better serve customers, according to the company's news release.

Giovanni will now lead the operations area, including energy delivery, power supply, and energy resources and operations. Most recently, Giovanni served as vice president of energy delivery. Colton Ching, vice president of system operations and planning, has replaced Giovanni as vice president of energy delivery.

Further, Scott Seu has been named vice president of energy resources and operations. Seu previously served as vice president of energy resources. In addition to his current responsibilities for conventional and renewable resource acquisition and new energy initiatives, Seu will oversee the daily operation of the electric grid and corporate and system planning.
