Madrid, January 8, 2015. The Spanish Company for Financing External Development COFIDES, S.A, has reached a financing agreement with Ezentis to boost its internationalization process in Latin America.

Thus, COFIDES grants a joint venture loan amounting to 3,000,000 euros managed by the Fund for Foreign Investment (FIEX) and by the equity of the Company. With this investment, the equity provided in the acquisitions of companies in Latin America will be financed. Along with the contribution of the promoter, the total investment is of 6,000,000 euros.

This is the first operation where COFIDES and Ezentis collaborate to encourage its international growth. After signing the agreement, the president and CEO of COFIDES, Salvador Marín, has pointed out that "the Spanish companies in the telecommunications sector are proving to be very competitive and the need of investment in telecommunications and power infrastructures are very high, - especially in developing of 'the last mile' in the area of Latin America - which facilitates their access to this market. "

According to Manuel García-Durán, Chief Executive of Ezentis, "The agreement between the two companies is an important support for business strategy of Ezentis in Latin America. With this financing agreement Ezentis continues its expansion in a region with great business opportunities, which will have a positive impact on the income statement of both companies. "

Ezentis is a Spanish business group listed on the Madrid and Bilbao Stock Markets, with more than 9,000 employees and an annual turnover of over 200 million euros. Founded in 1959 in Madrid, Ezentis main activity focuses on industrial consulting, planning, design, engineering, implementation, management and maintenance of distribution networks in key sectors for telecommunications, electricity, water, gas, oil and mining.

COFIDES is a public-private partnership that since 1988 offers financial support for investments of Spanish companies abroad. It manages exclusively FIEX and FONPYME funds on behalf of the Secretary of State for Trade, attached to the Ministry of Economy and Finance. In its shareholder base also participate Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), Banco Santander, Banco Popular, Banco Sabadell and CAF- Banco de Desarrollo de América Latina.
