A Tokyo-based insurance company agreed to acquire 13.32% stake in GEOMATEC Co., Ltd. (JASDAQ:6907) from an individual shareholder on August 10, 2015. On completion, Tokyo-based insurance company will own 17.57% stake and individual will hold no stake in GEOMATEC Co., Ltd. The transaction is expected to close on August 11, 2015.

GEOMATEC CO., LTD. is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in the manufacture and sale of vacuum film related products. The Company is engaged in the manufacture and sale of substrates for flat panel displays (FPDs), as well as vacuum film substrates of indium tin oxide (ITO) and metal, mainly for liquid crystal displays (LCDs) of smart phones, tablet terminals, mobile phones, touch panels, car navigation systems, digital cameras and others. The Company is also engaged in the provision of various products for measuring equipment, medical equipment, lighting equipment and other optical equipment parts, solar cell parts, transparent heaters, beam expander lenses, thermocouples and others.
