LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) _ Fulton Financial Corp. (FULT) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $50.8 million.

The bank, based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, said it had earnings of 30 cents per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 31 cents per share.

The financial holding company posted revenue of $239.2 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $220.2 million, also missing Street forecasts.

For the year, the company reported profit of $178 million, or $1.08 per share. Revenue was reported as $870.9 million.

Fulton Financial shares have climbed 16% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $14.80, a drop of 15% in the last 12 months.
