Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) announced today that it was awarded a multi-year contract extension to provide maintenance services for Luminant, a subsidiary of Energy Future Holdings Corp., including all of its fossil fuel power generation plant sites located throughout Texas. The undisclosed contract value was booked in the company's fourth quarter.

Fluor will supply supervision and craft personnel to support ongoing base crew maintenance as well as major outage and project work, construction services and plant modifications. Fluor began providing ongoing maintenance services at four of Luminant's power sites in 1984 and has since grown the relationship to cover all of the company's fossil power generating sites and equipment repair center. The new contract runs through 2015.

?Fluor is one of the largest providers of maintenance and outage support services to the power generation industry. This new contract exemplifies our breadth and depth of maintenance resources and provides us with the opportunity to deliver added value to this key client through a multi-site, multi-year program,? said Dave Dunning, president of Fluor's Power Group.

?Fluor's 25-plus year relationship with Luminant has succeeded due to our companies' mutual commitments to excellence in safety, first-rate quality and cost effectiveness,? said Rick Graves, Fluor's senior vice president of the Power Group. ?We value the confidence that Luminant has placed in us to provide maintenance services at their plant sites.?

During outages on their coal units, Fluor craft manpower usually peaks between 1,000 to 1,500 workers. Fluor's equipment, tool and fleet management unit, AMECO, is also engaged with all of Luminant's power plant sites providing complete craft support services. Luminant is one of AMECO's longest ongoing clients for which it provides services.

Fluor recently completed Luminant's Oak Grove Units 1 & 2 clean coal project, and it was named POWER Magazine's Top Plant of 2010. The project was also a Construction category finalist at the Platts Global Energy Awards and was recently recognized by Power Engineering as a top coal plant finalist.

Luminant is a competitive power generation business including mining, wholesale marketing and trading, and development operations. With a total of more than 15,400 megawatts of generation capacity in Texas, 2,300 megawatts are fueled by nuclear power and 8,000 megawatts fueled by coal. The company is also the largest purchaser of wind-generated electricity in Texas and fifth largest in the United States.
