First Bancshares, Inc. announced earnings results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2020. For the third quarter, the company announced net interest income was USD 3.564 million compared to USD 3.379 million a year ago. Net income was USD 1.049 million compared to USD 997,000 a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.4 compared to USD 0.39 a year ago. For the nine months, net interest income was USD 10.483 million compared to USD 10.132 million a year ago. Net income was USD 2.927 million compared to USD 2.772 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.11 compared to USD 1.09 a year ago.
First Bancshares, Inc. is a holding company for Stockmens Bank (the Bank). The Bank provides its customers with a range of community banking services. The Bank is engaged in the business of attracting deposits from, and making loans to, the general public, including individuals and businesses. It originates real estate loans, including one-to-four family residential mortgage loans, multi-family residential loans, commercial real estate loans, agricultural real estate loans and home equity loans and non-real estate loans, including commercial business, agricultural business and consumer loans.
