Fiem Industries Ltd. reported standalone unaudited earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2012. For the quarter, the company reported net sales of INR 1,492.899 million compared with INR 1,366.298 million for the same period last year. Profit from operations before other income, financial cost & exceptional items was INR 132.235 million compared with INR 128.284 million for the same period last year. Profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 93.533 million compared with INR 74.165 million for the same period last year. Net profit for the period was INR 66.150 million or INR 5.53 diluted per share compared with INR 50.465 million or INR 4.22 diluted per share for the same period last year.
For the nine months, the company reported net sales of INR 4,349.187 million compared with INR 3,864.018 million for the same period last year. Profit from operations before other income, financial cost & exceptional items was INR 369.263 million compared with INR 377.803 million for the same period last year. Profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 251.456 million compared with INR 225.976 million for the same period last year. Net profit for the period was INR 179.180 million or INR 14.98 diluted per share compared with INR 155.96 million or INR 13.04 diluted per share for the same period last year.
Fiem Industries Limited is an India-based company that is primarily engaged in the business of manufacturing and supply of auto components. The Company manufactures automotive lighting and signaling equipment, rear-view mirror, prismatic mirror, plastic molded parts, bank angle sensor, canister and sheet metal components for motorized vehicles, and light-emitting diode (LED) luminaires comprising of indoor and outdoor lighting, display panels and integrated passenger information system. Its products include headlamps, tail lamps, other lamps, pistons, rings, engine valves, fuel pumps, carburetor, starter motor, generators, ignition system, spark plug, steering gears and systems, clutch plates, discs, axle assembly and wheels, leaf springs, shock, absorbers, brake assembly and facing, wiping systems, electric horns, dashboard instruments, sheet metal parts, pressure discs, castings and glass rubber. The Company operates approximately nine manufacturing facilities.
