Federal Grid Company (a member of Rosseti Group) review the preliminary results of utility connection of power generation facilities and power plants in 2016. As predicted, the total maximum capacity of the facilities will reach 9.95 GW, which if more than the total value of the previous year.

A large part of the connections, about 5.5 GW, accounts for generation. 1.7 GW more will accrue to utility connection of distribution complex facilities under contracts.

A 220 kV substation Gubernskaya was built in Western Siberia to provide electricity to Antipinsky Refinery. Under the utility connection contract, the consumer received 60 MW of energy. Electricity supply was also organized for an oil pumping station of Gazpromneft on the Yamal Peninsula. A 500 kV substation Svyatogor was built in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area to mine Chupalskoye and Sorovskoye oil and gas fields.

The largest projects for connecting power generation facilities to the backbone network implemented by FGC UES were the construction of power supply infrastructure for two hydroelectric installations of Zelenchukskaya HEP-PHES in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, Huadian-Teninskaya HES in Yaroslavl region and Chelyabinsk SDPP. Moreover, facilities were built to provide additional power to Nyagansk SDPP, Surgut SDPP-2 and Kama HES.

Today, the company works on the construction and modernization of energy facilities to supply nuclear power from Rostov NPP, Novovoronezhskaya NPP-2 and Leningrad NPP-2. In 2017, FGC UES will continue implementing the projects for providing power to priority development areas in Khabarovsk Kray and Primorsky Kray, to the infrastructure of Baikal-Amur and Trans-Siberian railways, new and existing facilities of Eastern Siberia  Pacific Ocean and the Power of Siberia pipelines, as well as to Elga coal mine.

In 2017, it is scheduled to complete the construction of transmission lines and substations, which are a part of a joint SPV-projects implemented in cooperation with Polyus Gold and Norilsk Nickel. New energy facilities will ensure the transfer of more than 260 MW of power to support the operation of Bystrinsky Mining and Processing Plant and gold mining and processing enterprises of Krasnoyarsk Kray.
