On a per-share basis, the Seattle-based company said it had net income of $1.51. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were $2.89 per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.79 per share.

The computer networking company posted revenue of $687.1 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $679 million.
