Eurobank Ergasias SA unit Bancpost SA said that Philippos Karamanolis was appointed CEO of the bank and country CEO for the Eurobank group in Romania. The appointment takes effect May 16, pending the approval of Romanian regulators. Karamanolis will replace George Georgakopoulos, who intends to pursue his professional career outside Eurobank and Romania.
Karamanolis has been with the Eurobank group since 2001 and was most recently executive board president at Eurobank a.d. Beograd.
