Rystad Energy's Gullkronen 2020 was tonight held in Oslo with just over 300 guests enjoying a night of industry expertise, awards, and entertainment.

The event is dedicated to acknowledging high performances and achievements made by companies involved in the energy business during the previous year.

The evening hosted by Susanne Andresen, Analytics Editor, and Matthew Watson, Partner & Head of EMEA, at Rystad Energy, commenced with an NCS status report by Managing Partner and CEO, Jarand Rystad.

During the award ceremony, the four E&P Awards were given out as follows

Explorer of the Year: Aker BP

Business Developer of the Year: Equinor & Lundin

Project Developer of the Year: Equinor (Johan Sverdrup)

Field Operator of the Year: Lundin (Edvard Grieg)

The three Oil Service Awards were given out as follows:

New Venture of the Year: InflowControl

Globetrotter of the Year: Tomax

Business Success of the Year: Interwell The Green Initiator Award was given to: Green Initiator of the Year: Equinor (Hywind Tampen)

Kare Willoch is awarded the Gullkronen Honour Award 2020 for securing diversity on the Norwegian continental shelf and huge value creation for Norway through his work as a parliamentarian and prime minister. His initiatives ensured healthy competition and a large number of players on the shelf. He established the State's Direct Financial Interest in oil and gas activity (known as SDOE in Norwegian), which has brought enormous income to Norway over several decades. And last but not least, he laid down the groundwork for what is popularly known as the Petroleum Fund - now worth $1 trillion which safeguards Norway's oil wealth for future generations.
