Endesa SA : Endesa, chosen to promote e-mobility in Spanish city councils

• Endesa will promote e-mobility in Spanish city councils by gradually replacing their fleets of fuel-run vehicles as part of its E-mobility Pack.

Endesa is one of a group of companies chosen by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Fisheries and Environment in this latest edition of the Climate Projects, aimed at reducing GHG emissions.

Endesa's E-mobility Pack involves the gradual replacement of internal fleets of fuel-run vehicles at city councils with electric ones, the installation of a charging point for every vehicle replaced and other value-added mobility services, such as controlling and monitoring the infrastructure, managing the fleets and optimising routes.

These turnkey projects will run for four years and initially include councils in Catalonia, the Balearics, Andalusia and Extremadura, before being extended to other regions.

The Climate projects, intended to reduce GHG emissions, began in May 2012, promoted by the Spanish Climate Change Office which reports to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Fisheries and Environment. 

In the 2013 edition, 49 projects have been agreed to help cut CO2 emissions by over one million tonnes over the next four years in the agriculture, transport, residential and waste sectors.

In recent years, Endesa has helped many city councils across Spain electrify their fleets, including La Coruña and Puerto Real; and, in conjunction with Enel Sole and within the framework of the efficient lighting agreements which also include e-mobility, Endesa has entered into agreements with, inter alia, Merida, Rincón de la Victoria, Bollullos de la Mitación, and Los Alcázares.
