Sigdo Koppers announced that its subsidiary Enaex reached an agreement to become the strategic partner in the area of explosives and rock fragmentation of Sasol South Africa Limited. The agreement following a negotiation process that began last July, envisages Enaex's entry as the company's controlling partner that will stem from the split of the current Explosives Division of Sasol South Africa Limited. The company said this new "Joint Venture" will take over the assets, contracts and people belonging to this business, both in South Africa and the rest of the southern African countries where they have operations. The firm expects the division, which has more than 1,000 employees, to reach production close to 350 thousand tons of explosives annually, with sales of around $250 million.
