Eiffage makes a strategic acquisition in the quarries sector

> 16/01/2013

It's the largest acquisition by Eiffage since the takeover of the electrical engineering company Clemessy in 2008. The Group, through its Public Works division, acquired the Budillon Rabatel quarry company at the end of 2012.

Founded in 1957 and with 13 production sites, the company, based in Voiron (Isère), produces and sells approximately 3 million tons of aggregates every year in the Drôme, Isère, Rhône and Savoie regions. Budillon Rabatel also operates mobile crushing and transportation services.

This value creating acquisition will enable Eiffage to increase its aggregates production capacity by 15%, and will help its works division to significantly strengthen its position in the quarry sector in France. In this way, the Group will also secure and consolidate its position in the Rhône-Alpes region.

The new extraction sites, very well situated geographically in terms of the company's quarries and asphalt plants, will also consolidate Eiffage Travaux Public's regional activity due to permanent access to the resource.
