Duopharma Biotech Berhad announced the appointment of Encik Mohd Haris Bin Mohd Arshad, age 51, as Non-Independent and Non-Executive Director. The date of change is March 20, 2024. Qualifications: Degree, Bachelor of Science Degree on Business Administration, Economics, and Marketing, University of Arizona.

Others: Advanced Management Programme, Harvard Business School. Working experience and occupation: Encik Haris is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Sime Darby Plantation Berhad (SDP) and Managing Director of Sime Darby Oils (SDO), overseeing the SDPs upstream operation in Asia region, SDO and Research & Development. Encik Haris began his career in 1995 as a trader with Cargill in Malaysia, where he was involved in the trading of palm oil and palm products and ensuring an uninterrupted supply of feedstock to the refineries.

He has accumulated significant experience in the commodity sector, particularly in palm oil, through various roles at Cargill, Nestle, and Unilever. Throughout his career journey, he has developed commodity, trading, risk management and strategic expertise in driving the market expansion through bulk trading in the B2B and B2C segments in SDP. His exposure in international markets, including Asia, Africa, Switzerland, and the USA, has been a key factor in his career, particularly in building robust stakeholder engagement through his extensive connections.

He also currently sits on the Board of Emery Oleochemicals LLC and the Malaysian Palm Oil Board, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Malaysian Palm Oil Council. Appointment as nominee director of Permodalan Nasional Berhad, a major shareholder of Duopharma Biotech Berhad.
