(Alliance News) - Destination Italia Spa, Italy's first travel tech company, announced Friday that it has surpassed EUR27.4 million in bookings in the first 11 months of the year. Compared to 2021, the growth was 275 percent: last year, bookings exceeded EUR7.3 million in the same period.

Compared to 2021, in 2022 the Group recorded the increase in bookings of high-end tourists from the United States, Canada, Australia and many European Union countries, including Spain and the United Kingdom. Tourists from Latin America, primarily Brazil and Argentina, are also on the rise. Stable is the Middle Eastern market, shrinking is the Russian market due to travel restrictions.

"For 2022 growth, the contribution of SONO Travel Club, the business line of tailor-made tourism experiences dedicated to luxury travelers, families and small groups with high spending budgets and the desire to live unique experiences in the Italian territory was very important: from staying in prestigious hotels or private villas, to personal chef or starred dinners, from private excursions in exclusive places to participation in events inaccessible to the general public. We are not only talking about High Net Worth Individuals, but also about people willing to spend significant sums to see their 'Italian dream' come true," the company explained in a note.

On Friday, Destination Italia closed flat at EUR1.12 per share.
