Daktronics, an LED display manufacturer, has partnered with the University of Richmond to design, manufacture and install an LED video display at E. Claiborne Robins Stadium in Virginia. Installation was completed this past fall for the Spiders, according to a company press release.

"Robins Stadium at the University of Richmond is one of the finest facilities in the country," David Walsh, deputy athletic director/chief of operations, said in the release. "The new LED video board from Daktronics only added to the facility and enhanced the game-day experience for our Spider faithful. The state-of-the-art display at Robins Stadium had a very positive impact on our facility this past fall."

The LED video display measures 27.5 feet high by 60 feet wide and is positioned in the east end zone and will be used for Richmond Spiders football, men's and women's lacrosse, and women's track and field events. The display features 10-millimeter pixel spacing for a clear, crisp picture.

"We're excited to once again partner with the University of Richmond to provide our state-of-the-art products to enrich the game-day experience for both student-athletes and fans alike," Fran Kulas, Daktronics sales representative, said in the release. "Robins Stadium is a special venue for a number of Spider athletics programs, along with other special events, and Daktronics is thrilled to play such an integral role in helping to enhance future events at this venue."

The display is capable of variable content zoning. This allows it to show one large image or multiple zones to share any combination of live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics and results, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.

Richmond Spiders Athletics will also receive a content package that will be produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services. Founded in 1968, Daktronics is based in Brookings, South Dakota.
