MUNICH (dpa-AFX) - The ticket marketer and concert promoter CTS Eventim has made a strong start to the year. In the first quarter, revenue rose by almost twelve percent year-on-year to almost 409 million euros, as the MDax-listed company announced in Munich on Thursday. Adjusted for special items, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (adjusted EBITDA) grew by 36 percent to a good 92 million euros, exceeding analysts' average expectations. Thanks in part to higher income from financial investments, the surplus jumped by as much as 60 percent to 67.5 million euros.

In particular, income from ticket sales increased significantly. CEO Klaus-Peter Schulenberg thus sees the Group on the way to achieving its goal of moderately increasing sales and adjusted operating profit in the current year./stw/stk
