At 10:26, August 3, 2021, the G9147 CR EMU train newly manufactured by CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd. departed from Jinzhoubei Railway Station and headed for Dalian. This marked the official operation start of Chaoyang-Linghai High-speed Railway.

Although a branch railway, Chaoyang-Linghai High-speed Railway connects three trunk railways, namely the existing Beijing-Shenyang High-speed Railway, Qinhuangdao-Shenyang High-speed Railway and Harbin-Dalian High-speed Railway. The railway shortens the travel time from Dalian and Jinzhou to Beijing by 47 minutes and 35 minutes respectively from the previous 4 hours and 2 hours 17 minutes. At the initial stage of the operation, railway authorities will arrange 11 pairs of EMU trains for Chaoyang-Linghai High-speed Railway.

The operation start of Chaoyang-Linghai High-speed Railway further enhances the high-speed railway network in the Northeast, shortens the distance between Beijing and key cities in southern Liaoning and western Liaoning, strengthens the connection between Liaoning coastal economic belt and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area, and will play an important role in facilitating the rejuvenation of northeast China.
