Crnogorski Elektroprenosni Sistem (CGES) will invest EUR 20 million ($27.5 million) this year in the construction of a subsea power link to Italy. CGES will contribute over 100 million euro to the project in total, or 20% of the total investment required to build the subsea power cable. The project is being implemented jointly with the Italian partner, electricity transmission system operator Terna, which owns 22% of CGES.

CGES will finance the project with loans provided by Germany's KfW Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
