Crédit Agricole CIB acted as joint lead bank, together with BNP Paribas, Goldman Sachs International, J.P. Morgan and Natixis, for French rail network operator SNCF Réseau's €1 billion green bond issue. At over twelve years, this is the longest-maturity and highest-value green bond ever issued by a French company or agency. It's also Crédit Agricole CIB's second green bond mandate in a row for SNCF Réseau. This financing will be used on new projects for durably modernising the network, and for reinforcing a strategy favouring biodiversity and protecting natural resources. SNCF Réseau wants to carry out at least one issuance of this type every year to become a leading player in this market.
