Companhia Piratininga de Forca e Luz (CPFL Piratininga) is a Brazil-based company involved in the electric utilities sector. The Company is primarily engaged in the provision of public services of distribution of electrical power for residential, industrial and rural consumption. In the year 2011, the Company served approximately 1.5 million clients. The Company is active in the distribution of electrical energy in 27 municipalities of the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo, including city of Santos, Sorocaba and Jundiai, among others. As of December 31, 2011, Companhia Piratininga de Forca e Luz was wholly owned by CPFL Energia SA, which is a holding company engaged in the distribution, generation and commercialization of electric energy in Brazil.
