LIVERMORE, Calif., Jan. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast Cable, the nation's leading provider of entertainment, information and communications products and services, has named Amy Lynch as the Area Vice President for Comcast California's Southwest Bay Area, it was announced today by Marty Robinson, Vice President of Technical Operations for Comcast California. Lynch will report directly to Robinson, and will oversee all aspects of Comcast's operations for one of cable TV's highest profile territories - Silicon Valley and the tech-savvy San Francisco Peninsula. She will be responsible for a team of approximately 600 employees, and will oversee the extensive Southwest Bay territory that stretches from San Francisco through Santa Clara County, and south to Monterey County.

Lynch will be based in the company's San Francisco office, and replaces Ralph Martinez who recently was named Regional Vice President of Comcast's Twin Cities Region in Minnesota. She most recently served as the AVP for Comcast in Southern Colorado and previously served in Comcast's Mile High Region as the General Manager of the Colorado Mountains, as well as AVP of Northern Colorado. During her five-year tenure with the Mile High Region, Lynch led numerous initiatives and improvements, including facilitating the first ever contract between Comcast and the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) which provided Comcast access and use of CDOT fiber.

Lynch's appointment marks her return to California where she previously served as Director of Sales and Marketing for Comcast's former West Bay Area. She also served as the Regional Vice President of Sales and Marketing in Comcast's Maryland territory before making her mark in Colorado. Lynch began her career at Cox Communications and also held a variety of marketing and leadership positions at @Home Solutions/Excite@Home.

Lynch serves as an active member of Junior Achievement and Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT). A native of New England, Lynch graduated from the University of Connecticut where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing and Communications. She has completed many executive education courses including the Comcast Corporate Executive Leadership Forum, the Comcast California Leadership Engagement and Advancement Program, and the Comcast West Division High Potential Program.
