Emmanuel Grenier, Cnova's former CEO, has stepped down from the online retail group's board of directors, the company announced on Thursday.

Prior to joining the board as a non-executive director, Emmanuel Grenier had been the company's CEO, as well as CEO of Cdiscount, for the past 15 years.

His departure follows his recent appointment as executive director e-commerce for the Casino group, Cnova's parent company.

Thomas Métivier, a 35-year-old executive, replaced him as CEO of Cnova in January, also taking up the position of CEO of Cdiscount, the group's main brand.
