CareView Communications, Inc. announced the release of the latest updates to its CareView platform, version 5.9. This update includes numerous new features and improved functionality to expand its virtual care offerings, specifically for the Patient Safety System (supporting patient safety outcomes) and the Patient Care System (supporting virtual nursing outcomes). The update includes TeleCareView, a dedicated virtual nursing module with secure two-way communication technology with documentation capability. The communication allows for better care coordination through patient/provider video calls with family members, translators, and additional medical providers.

These features build on CareView's integration with nurse communication and patient engagement platforms. These significant updates provide much-needed support for the bedside nurses by shifting professional nursing and administrative tasks to an RN who can engage with the patient, their family, and other members of the care team remotely. Other exciting features and enhancements to the CareView platform include a newly designed interface for staff to monitor patients without interfering with central monitoring staff (PatientView), an improved interface to allow for better visibility on higher acuity patients (SplitView), improved patient risk classification for documentation and observation of patient morbidities, and updates to the SitterView workflow.
