Boom Logistics Ltd. announced preliminary unaudited earnings results for the half year ended December 31, 2012. For the period, the company reported earnings before interest expense and tax of AUD 17.8 million, an increase of 12% against AUD 15.7 million a year ago. Trading net profit after tax for the half year ended December 31, 2012 was AUD 8.8 million, an increase of 27% against AUD 6.9 million a year ago. This result is a marked increase over the previous years performance, with the growth trend evident over last two years continuing. Core business revenue growth of 11%. Statutory EBIT was AUD 16.1 million. Statutory NPAT was AUD 7.6 million. Capital expenditure was AUD 16.1 million has been invested in the core business of travel towers. This is in line with company strategy to grow in the active telecommunications and power transmission markets and maintain number one market position. Operating revenue was AUD 185.5 million against AUD 175.5 million a year ago. Net tangible assets was AUD 0.52 per share against AUD 0.53 per share a year ago. Net cash provided from operating activities was AUD 26.2 million against AUD 22.2 million a year ago. Purchase of plant and equipment was AUD 42.7 million against AUD 28.0 million a year ago. Payments for intangible assets - software development was AUD 1.2 million against AUD 0.9 million a year ago.

The company expects that the level of EBIT growth of 12% achieved in the first half will continue on a comparable basis into the second half of the financial year 2013. This would result in a full year trading EBIT of circa AUD 39 million against AUD 35.5 million a year ago. This revised outlook takes account of a range of factors that have emerged during the second quarter of fiscal year 2013. In August 2012, when releasing fiscal year 2012 results, trading EBIT for fiscal year 2013 had been expected at between AUD 47 million and AUD 50 million based on the market conditions at that time.
