BERLIN (dpa-AFX) - The German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) expects around 2.7 million new cars on Germany's roads this year. That would be around two percent more new registrations than last year, but around a quarter less than in 2019, the year before the Corona crisis, the association announced on Wednesday. According to the report, production in particular is likely to rise more significantly due to the improved supply situation for semiconductors, for example. The VDA expects 3.7 million cars to be produced in Germany in the current year. That would be six percent more than in 2022./maa/DP/stk
