The European Commission has cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the acquisition of joint control of Simulation Software (Energy Exemplar) of Australia, by Blackstone and Vista Equity Partners Management, both of the USA.

The transaction mainly concerns the supply of energy market modeling and analysis software for the electricity, water, gas and renewable energy sectors.

The Commission concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns, given that the joint venture has negligible activities in the European Economic Area and that the companies are not active in the same or vertically related markets.
