Black Dragon Gold announced the activation of a key permitting application critical to progressing its Salave Gold Project. Following an extended period of engagement and consultation since the elections last year, the Tapia de Casariego Town Council has now formally accepted and is assessing Black Dragon's recently re-submitted application to change the land use designation (from agricultural to industrial) and allow mining activities. This application requires consideration by both the Council's planning department and an environmental assessment (of any potential impact to the land created by its re-designation to industrial use) by the Principality of Asturias.

Whilst separate to the Project's main Environmental Impact Assessment, which was filed with the Principality in July 2021, this re-zoning application is considered as a condition to the issuance of the EIA.
