Bajaj Electricals Limited reported standalone unaudited earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2018. For the quarter, the company reported total income from operations of INR 21,618.3 million as compared to INR 11,451.3 million for the same period last year. Total Income was INR 21,673.5 million as compared to INR 11,547.3 million for the same period last year. Profit before exceptional items and tax was INR 1,000.2 million as compared to INR 572.2 million for the same period last year. Net Profit for the period was INR 639.2 million as compared to INR 368.3 million for the same period last year. Basic earnings per share was INR 6.25 as compared to INR 3.62 for the same period last year. Diluted earnings per share was INR 6.23 as compared to INR 3.61 for the same period last year.
For the nine months, the company reported total income from operations of INR 49,002.0 million as compared to INR 31,101.2 million for the same period last year. Total Income was INR 49,207.9 million as compared to INR 31,407.6 million for the same period last year. Profit before exceptional items and tax was INR 2,155.8 million as compared to INR 1,206.2 million for the same period last year. Net Profit for the period was INR 1,385.3 million as compared to INR 763.1 million for the same period last year. Basic earnings per share was INR 13.56 as compared to INR 7.52 for the same period last year. Diluted earnings per share was INR 13.51 as compared to INR 7.49 for the same period last year.
Bajaj Electricals Limited is engaged in the marketing of various consumer household and industrial goods. The Company operates through two segments: Consumer Products and Lighting Solutions. The Consumer Products segment is engaged in the manufacturing and trading of consumer durables products which includes fans, domestic appliances, kitchen appliances, and non-electrical kitchen aids. The Lighting Solutions segment is engaged in the manufacturing and trading of lighting products which includes light-emitting diode (LED) products, such as lamps, bulbs, battens and ceiling lights in consumer lighting and poles, high mast, street lighting, area lighting, in professional lighting. It also provides various fans comprising ceiling, pedestal, table, wall, personal, domestic, and others. It also involved in the engineering, procurement and commissioning of power transmission and power distribution infrastructure. It operates approximately 2,00,000 retail outlets.
