Assystem : settles its ambitions in Romania, the Eastern Europe’s “Silicon Valley”

With more than 1,000 engineers in Romania, Assystem settles its ambitions in Eastern Europe's "Silicon Valley" Paris, 19 January 2017 - Present in Romania since 1994, the engineering group exceeded the 1,000th engineer milestone. Benefiting from its strategic position in the market, the group aims to reach more than 30% growth in 2017 and double its staff by end of 2020.

Assystem counts now more than 1,000 engineers on its different facilities in Romania gathering a multinational team with a majority of Romanians, but also collaborators from Austria, France, Germany, Morocco and Turkey. The Engineering Center, existing today due to the initial top management requirement, acts in various fields: aerospace, automotive, transportation, energy and infrastructures. It provides 350 engineers to the Renault-Dacia group in their different Romanian facilities (Bucarest, Mioveni and Titu).

The Engineering Center is able to work remotely on several customer projects thanks to its technological capacity and multi language skills, abolishing geographic distances. "We succeed in mixing the geographic and customer asset, Romania being at the crossroad between East/West and North/South, the technologic proximity and the recruitment of skilled talents", explains Alexander Gross, Director of the Automotive Engineering Center at Assystem. From Romania, Assystem works for its customers based in France or in Germany, as well as in Finland, the Middle-East, Russia, Slovenia, Slovakia, or in the United Kingdom. This success is coming from a strategy combining diversification and high level competences focused on systems and solutions for the customer.

Go beyond a 30% growth by end of 2017

The 1,000th engineer milestone is not an end, but just the beginning of a new story. "Our expertise is well-know from all for a long time, nonetheless this critical mass offers an added credibility allowing the acceleration of our development. Dominique Louis, Assystem's Chairman and CEO, is expecting from us to double our size within the next 5 years", states Roger Coat, Administrator of Assystem Romania. This ambition is linked with the Engineering Center results so far which turnover increases every year, from €22 million in 2015 to €26 million in 2016. "Our objective is set for next year: reach more than 30% growth."
