Arafura Resources Limited Announces Retirement of Shasha Lu from the Board of Directors

Arafura Resources Limited announced that Ms Shasha Lu has retired from the company's board. Ms Lu's retirement allows her to focus her efforts on pursuing other business interests which include her recent appointment as a Non Executive Director of Sheng Kang Ning (Shanghai) Mining Investment CO., LTD. Ms Lu was appointed as a Director of Arafura in July 2009. At the time of her appointment Ms Lu was an Executive Director and CEO of Hong Kong East China Non Ferrous Mineral Resources Co.

Ltd. (HKECE) which is a subsidiary of Jiangsu East China Nonferrous Metals Investment Holding CO., LTD (ECE). HKECE holds the foreign business interests of ECE. Ms Lu has stepped down from her position as Executive Director and CEO of HKECE and is now pursuing new business interests including those at SKN.

Company Profile

Arafura Rare Earths Limited is an Australia-based company that is engaged in the production of rare earth products. The Company produces rare earth products from the Nolans Project. The Nolans Project consists of a mine, process plant, including beneficiation, extraction and separation plants, and related infrastructure to be constructed and located at the Nolans site, approximately 135 kilometers north of Alice Springs in Australia's Northern Territory. Its rare earth products are Neodymium-Praseodymium (NdPr) oxide, and Mixed middle-heavy rare earths (SEG/HRE) oxide. NdPr oxide is the Company's flagship product, which is used by magnet and magnet alloy customers. The Companyâs primary products from the Nolans project are rare earths, which are used in catalytic converters in automobiles, consumer electronics, energy efficiency lighting, optics, alloys, advanced ceramics and permanent magnets that enable e-mobility and renewable energy applications.
