AMETEK's Environmental, Health & Safety Management Programs
Our Environmental, Health & Safety Management programs align with many of the ISO 14001 and 18001 (or 45001) principles and reflect our commitment to conducting business in a safe and environmentally responsible and sustainable manner. These programs meet or exceed compliance with applicable laws and regulations to promote continuous improvement in our operations. Our global programs support our commitment to continuous improvement in Environmental, Health and Safety performance, waste reduction, emergency preparedness and business resiliency, the promotion of sustainable practices and policies, and the prevention of workplace accidents and releases to the environment. Key KPIs are reported to our management team and senior business leaders on a monthly basis. Our Environmental, Health & Safety Management function reports into our Chief Financial Officer.
As part of AMETEK's Environmental, Health & Safety Management programs, we have a waste management and recycling program tailored to the diverse set of businesses that we operate. The waste management recycling program includes business waste, packaging waste, and production waste. We proactively conduct routine comprehensive environmental, health and safety audits to ensure conformance with regulations, and corporate policies and guidelines. Audit reports are distributed regularly to senior business leaders and to our management team, including our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
We seek to protect the environment by preserving its natural beauty in the places we work and are committed to environmentally responsible stewardship. We proactively manage environmental controls to stay in compliance with permit conditions and to preserve protected resources, including streams, wetlands and endangered species. Typically, our facilities are in industrial corridors or complexes where other industrial activities are present, and our land acquisitions are rare.
