CELBI S.A. ensures adequate availability of the collection system in the area in which it markets the products

In the manufacturing process, the Company uses materials and substances such as wood, water, chemicals, including oxygen, caustic soda, hydrogen peroxide, chlorine dioxide and sulphuric acid.

It is possible to reuse packaging from the Company's products.

Celbi uses wood produced in sustainably managed forests, with residual biomass being valued as energy produced in biomass power plants.

All products are sustainable, renewable and biodegradable.

It is possible to recycle packaging from the Company's products to the extent of packaging containing only wire.

The Company has procedures for dealing with waste generated in the production process.

Part of the non-hazardous industrial waste from the process activities is deposited in the waste controlled landfill (WCL) which has been in operation since 1998.

The organic waste resulting from the wood preparation as well as the sludge from the effluent treatment is processed in the waste composting plant.

The waste resulting from non-process activities (paper, plastic, glass, used oils, waste contaminated with oils, metal, etc.) is collected through an extensive network of containers for selective collection and sent out to external authorised waste management operators for treatment, elimination or further uses.

The bark and residual biomass from the wood yard and wood preparation plant resulting from the debarking of wood for the process are sent to Biomass Power Plants in order to generate electricity.

The Company's waste management costs are approximately €3 per tonne of pulp.
