Seal bag machines temporarily closed. What are the alternatives?
For safety reasons and on the advice of the police, all banks, including ABN AMRO, have decided to temporarily close their seal bag machines. The reason is a failed ATM explosive attack earlier this week whereby an explosive was placed in a seal bag machine. The possibility of undetonated explosives being left behind in a seal bag machine after such an attack poses an extremely dangerous risk.

Cash deposit machine a good alternative
We realise that the temporary closure of seal bag machines may have a big impact on business owners who use them. ABN AMRO offers these clients the option of safely crediting cash to their accounts by means of a cash deposit machine operated by ABN AMRO or Geldmaat. This requires the use of the business's bank card. The Geldmaat website lists the locations of these cash deposit machines (www.locatiewijzer.geldmaat.nl).

Safe deposit service offered by secure transport firms
Business owners can also use the safe deposit service offered by secure transport firms. The cash is collected from the business by a specialised secure transport firm such as Brinks or RCCS. This is not a product of ABN AMRO. Business owners can obtain more information by contacting a secure transport firm directly, or calling their account manager or our service desk on 088-226 26 26.

The banking sector is working hard to expand the options available for making cash deposits as soon as possible and to ensure that seal bag machines can be used safely once again.
