On June 26th, AAC Technologies and the Management Committee of Chongqing Liang Jiang New Area signed an investment agreement valued USD 8 billion on building AAC's Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Zone in Chongqing city, of which the construction will start in 2020.

Mr. Tang Liangzhi, the Deputy Secretary of Chongqing Municipal Committee and Mayor of Chongqing city, Mr. Duan Chenggang, a member of Standing Committee of Chongqing Municipal Party Secretary, and, Mr. Pan Zhengmin Benjamin, the Executive Director and CEO of AAC Technologies, attended the signing event.

Sales Revenue Target to reach more than RMB 10 billion in 2024

According to the agreement, AAC Technologies will build an intelligent manufacturing industrial zone in the development zone of Chongqing Liang Jiang New Area with, including but not limited to, the R&D and manufacturing of optical, precision transmission and related industrial chain products for market segments such as WLG (wafer-level glass) technology automotive electronics, AIoT intelligent wear, smart home. This commitment will call for the establishment of an optical technology innovation and research zone, a transformation base with talent incubation and training base for the optical industry, and, an optical technology research and application development exhibition center. Future sales revenue will reach at least RMB 2 billion in 2021 and more than RMB 10 billion of annual sales from 2024 to 2030.

Mr. Tang Liangzhi stated that 'This project is a great achievement for Chongqing city development. This pro-active response to the Belt and Road Initiative is in line with Chongqing's implemented innovation-driven development strategic plan of action led by big data intelligence. It reflects the strategic vision of AAC Technologies. In creating mutual benefit, the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government will further optimize the business environment and provide high-quality and efficient services for AAC Technologies, assisting AAC to grow and develop in Chongqing.'

Mr. Pan Zhengmin Benjamin is confident about the development prospects of Chongqing city. He believes that the rapid development and market recognition of high-end optical lenses based on WLG (wafer-level glass) technology will be the future strategic development and the core business growth point of AAC Technologies. The intelligent manufacturing industrial park in Liangjiang New Area will accelerate the technical development and mass production of WLG wafer-level glass lenses, fill the gap in the development of the international optical industry, and bring new development opportunities for the smart devices end market. Along with promoting and implementing the planned project with timely enhanced production yields, AAC Technologies will promote the high-quality development of Chongqing's Intelligent Manufacturing industry.

Project will fill the gap in Chongqing optics market

AAC Technologies is the world's leading provider of intelligent device solution in possession of the core technologies in acoustics, optics and electromagnetic transmission. Applied patents have reached 6,800.

At present, AAC is the only company in the world that has WLG wafer-level aspherical glass lense technology and is the first company in the world to achieve mass production of WLG wafer-level glass lens. As known, glass lens is a substantial leap compared with traditional plastic lenses in terms of image quality, aperture, resolution and thermal stability, capable of bringing a revolutionary photography experience to consumers. With more than ten years of experience in high-precision lens R&D, AAC has owned more than 2,500 core patents in the field of optics, ranking the first in the world. AAC's optical solutions involve mid-and-high-end optical lenses, dual-camera solutions, lenses used in automobiles, and, iris recognition. The company has invested in advanced optical companies such as Kaleido in Denmark and ISQR of Japan, and is currently building the world's leading precision optical manufacturing factory in the Czech Republic.

The Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Zone in Chongqing Liang Jiang New Area is a further integration of AAC's global R&D and production resources in order to accelerate the development of its optical business. Following the completion and operation of the project, the gap in the optical sector of Chongqing's intelligent manufacturing industry chain will be filled. It will provide the important support for promoting the improvement of the electronic information manufacturing industry, and, especially the automotive electronics industry chain in Chongqing and the Liang Jiang New Area.

Broad development of chips, LCD panels, smart terminals, core components and IOT and their full industrial chain

At present, Chongqing is vigorously implementing the innovation-driven development strategic plan of action led by big data intelligence. The Liang Jiang New Area is paying close attention to the introduction of leading electronics and information manufacturing companies and is intensifying and enlarging the chain of electronic information manufacturing. In additional, it has already formed three major clusters of the electronic information manufacturing industry, namely, integrated circuits, display panels and intelligent information terminal.

The accelerated growth of a good number of electronics manufacturing core components companies such as BOE, Leybold, Otis, Wanguo, Corning, Liang Jiang New Area will integrate the 'intelligent factor' of the traditional industry and the new growth of the intelligent industry. The establishment of the various production bases of AAC's optical electronics, automotive optics and other ultra-precision products, and, the construction and development of the eco-industrial zone of relevant industrial chain will foster the development of the intelligent industry for Liang Jiang New Area and achieve broader development of chips, LCD panels, smart devices, core components and AIoT and their supporting industrial supply chains.
