Export inspections for corn are up slightly for the most recent week versus the previous week but are still well behind the pace of last year.

In its latest grain export inspections report, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said corn export inspections totaled 511,506 metric tons for the week ended Feb. 9. That is up from 494,000 tons the week prior but well down from 1.46 million tons reported at the same time last year.

The pace for corn export inspections remains far behind last year's pace, with only 13.06 million tons inspected for the most recent week, down nearly 35% from last year.

Soybean and wheat inspections for the most recent week respectively totaled 1.56 million tons and 472,327 tons, both down from the previous week.

Mexico was the leading destination for corn, Japan was the leading destination for wheat, and China was the leading destination for soybeans.

Grain futures trading on the CBOT are higher today, with most-active corn futures up 0.6%, soybeans up 0.3% and wheat up 1.2%.
