The Canadian dollar strengthened against the greenback on Wednesday, and the yield on benchmark government debt slipped. The loonie was trading 0.2% higher at C$1.3808 to the greenback, or 72.42 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.3802 to 1.3837. Canadian government 10-year bond yields fell 2 basis points to 3.724%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt fell to 4.6345%. U.S. May crude futures fell 93 cents to $84.43 a barrel on Wednesday.
