FTSE 100 Poised to Rise Ahead of European, US PMI Data

0746 GMT - The FTSE 100 Index looks set to open 22 points higher at 7448, according to IG futures data, though Asia trades mostly lower and Wall Street closed in the red. Australian, mainland Chinese and Japanese markets fall, though Hong Kong stocks gain 0.7%. The Dow closed more than 2% lower. Brent crude drops 0.1% to $81.12 a barrel. "December flash PMI figures are on the agenda for the euro area, U.K. and U.S. Friday and we expect them to bring further evidence of the rising recession risks ahead," Danske Bank analysts say in a note.
