Nathan Horst

Mr. Horst is the Director of Investments at MicroVest and a member of the senior management team.
As the Director of Investments, Mr. Horst is responsible for MicroVest’s global asset pipeline, product development, market strategy, investment structuring, and investment execution.
Prior to joining MicroVest in 2011, Mr. Horst worked for the Overseas Private Investment Corporation and FINCA International.
His interest in developing financial markets that better serve disadvantaged populations started with his experience as a Peace Corps volunteer, where he spent two years working in Mali, collaborating with local organizations to design, finance and implement six economic development projects.
Mr. Horst earned an MA in International Finance, Economics and Development from Johns Hopkins University SAIS, where he focused on financial sector development in emerging markets.
He also holds a BA in English Literature and Composition from Belmont University.
Mr. Horst is fluent in English and Bambara, and functional in French.
