Prior to joining First Capital Partners in 2009, Mr. O'Donnell was chairman and CEO of Capital for Business (CFB), the ninth oldest SBIC in the U.S.
and an affiliate of Commerce Bancshares based in St. Louis.
Under his leadership, CFB completed over 70 expansion and change of ownership transactions utilizing a combination of subordinated (mezzanine) debt and equity.
Previously, his experience included commercial lending and operating management with the Nothern Trust Company, Mark Twain Banks, and Commerce Bank.
Mr. O'Donnell is the past chairman of NASBIC (National Association of Small Business Investment Companies), the past president of the St. Louis chapter of ACG (Association for Corporate Growth) and past board member of the international ACG organization.
Mr. O'Donnell received a B.A. in psychology from the University of Minnesota and an M.B.A. in finance and organizational behavior from the University of Chicago.
He also holds a certified public accountant (CPA) designation.
