Yuanta-FJCU Dreams Take Flight Project Continues to Educate Talents. Over 2,000 Students Received Grants in Past 13 Years to Help Them Bravely Pursue Dreams.

Yuanta Financial Holding Company (FHC) and Yuanta Cultural and Educational Foundation (Foundation) take warm actions to care for the corners of the society. Since 2011, Yuanta FHC and Yuanta Foundation have been promoting the 'Yuanta-FJCU Dreams Take Flight Project of Fostering Talent for the Remote Areas' with Fu Jen Catholic University's (FJCU) Taiwan Rural Education and Care Center, which has continued to provide scholarships to students with outstanding academic performance despite financial difficulties for thirteen years. The 2023 First Semester Growth Camp and Scholarship Award Ceremony was held on November 11 and 12, 2023. A total of 105 college, high school, and vocational school students passed the review and received the grants.

The theme of this growth camp is 'Self-Challenge of Body-Mind-Spirit Communication.' The Yuanta and FJCU teams organized two days and one night of exciting outdoor and recreational activities to stimulate the students' potential and spirit of adventure, and to increase the communication and interaction among the students. The camp also invited a professor from the Department of Psychology at FJCU to lead the students in 'Meditation and Zentangle,' through which the students were able to find themselves by calming down their minds.

Tzu-Han Lu, director of the Taiwan Rural Education and Care Center at FJCU, said that every student's existence is unique and they must break through the mundane framework of social definitions and think about how to break free to create more possibilities. The scholarship project not only offers material assistance, but more importantly, support and care. We hope that by organizing regular growth camps with rich curricula, students can feel more 'love' and become the light that supports each other.

The Yuanta-FJCU Dreams Take Flight Project has provided a total of 2,097 scholarships and nurtured 367 high school students, 148 college students, nineteen junior college students, and seven graduate students. As the project enters its thirteenth year, many disadvantaged students do not have to interrupt their studies due to family financial factors, and can study with peace of mind and feel loved by the long-term companionship of volunteers. We hope that this cycle of goodness can be passed on and have a greater impact on society.

Student Wang, a 'Yuanta Baby' who has received a scholarship, shared that he has participated in the Yuanta-FJCU Dreams Take Flight Project for seven years, and that he has learned more about his self-identity and how to work with the team during the growth camp process. He also actively takes part in the Yuanta Happiness Day, Yuanta Scholarship for Outstanding Underprivileged Talent and other activities as a service volunteer, hoping to give back to the community. Another 'Yuanta Baby,' Student Hu, also shared the challenges she encountered during her studies. Through the project, she not only made progress towards her goal, but also felt the love and care of Yuanta and FJCU in the growth camp. Therefore, she joined in the many social service activities organized by the Yuanta Foundation, encouraging the students in the camp to be persistent and never give up.

Education is the best way to improve your life and realize your dreams. The Yuanta-FJCU Dreams Take Flight Project not only gives scholarships, but also arranges for online study companions from students at FJCU during the semester, accompanying children in remote areas during summer and winter vacations to make up for the lack of educational resources. Only through continuous love and care can we turn momentum into support, continue to work in the field of education, protect the rights of underprivileged students to fair and high-quality education, and encourage outstanding students to overcome challenges and turn their lives around.
