Xtra-Gold Resources Corp. is a gold exploration company with a substantial land position in the Kibi Gold Belt. The Company's exploration activity is focused on the Kibi Gold Project comprising approximately 33.65 square kilometers (sq kms), which is located on the Apapam Concession along the eastern flank of the Kibi Gold Belt. The Kibi Gold Belt, which exhibits many similar geological features to Ghana's main gold belt, the Ashanti Belt, has been the subject of limited modern exploration activity targeting lode gold deposits as virtually all past gold mining activity and exploration activities are focused on the alluvial gold occurrences in many river valleys throughout the Kibi area. The Company has five concessions: Kwabeng, Pameng, Apapam, Muoso, and Banso. It holds five mining leases totaling approximately 226 sq kms (22,600 hectares) at the northern extremity of the Kibi Gold Belt. Its subsidiaries include Xtra-Gold Exploration Limited, and Xtra-Gold Mining Limited.
