Ximen Mining Corp. announced the signing of its first battery contract with Energy Plug to install a 20kWh Battery Energy Storage Systems ("BESS") at Ximen's Kenville Gold Mine in Nelson, BC. Earlier this year, Ximen entered into an agreement with Energy Plug for a comprehensive two-phase program aimed at generating clean electricity for Kenville Gold Mine.

This initiative will focus on harnessing renewable power sources, particularly solar and hydropower. In the first phase of this program, Energy Plug will provide and support the installation of a solar power-connected 20kWh Lithium-Iron Phosphate battery system. This system will play a crucial role in mitigating blackouts and brownouts, significantly lowering reliance on diesel, and advancing commitment towards achieving net-zero emissions.

The second phase of the energy program is expected to include the installation of 100kWh BESS at the Kenville Gold Mine. The BESS systems will be designed to accommodate high power consumption equipment including compressors and ventilation systems. Once installed, the BESS system will allow Ximen to store energy during off-peak hours and supply it back during peak load periods, increasing the energy efficiency of the mine site, and reducing strain on the site's grid system.
