The Board of Directors of Citrus Waskaduwa (Waskaduwa Beach Resort PLC) said that it is ready to offer its 150 roomed resort to be used as a quarantine centre by the National Operations to Prevent COVID-19 on a temporary basis, should the need arise, a statement from the Board said today.

Writing a letter to the Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva who is the Head of Operations at National Operations Center to prevent COVID_19, the Board said that it took the decision after considering the current crisis faced by the Nation and the world at large.

"Apart from the devastating impact faced by the Tourism sector, the Board noted the valiant efforts made by the government, the Health Sector and the Security Forces to control the situation in the country," the statement said while stressing that in the event that if it is decided to use the resort temporarily for the same, it will be completely decontaminated in keeping with international standards before normal operations commence.
