VDN Vereinigte Deutsche Nickel-Werke AG is a Germany-based holding company, which is formed by the merger of Langbein-Pfanhauser AG with Hindrichs-Auffermann AG, DOAG Holding AG and Vereinigte Deutsche Nickel-Werke AG. The Company is divided into two business units. The Fastening Systems business unit develops fastening systems for the woodworking industry. Furniture manufacturers, upholsterers, pallet and crate makers, and skills workers in the automotive industry use the Company's pneumatic tools for inserting staples and nails. The Home Decoration business unit develops, produced and marketed home decorating products in Europe and the United States. Products offered include wall coverings, self-adhesive borders, decorative film/foil and tablecloths. On September 1, 2005, the Company announced insolvency and the proceedings were opened. The Company's assets were sold to its subsidiaries, Alkor Venilia GmbH and Joh. Friedrich Behrens AG.
