Tronox Holdings plc reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2023. For the second quarter, the company reported sales was USD 794 million compared to USD 945 million a year ago. Net loss was USD 269 million compared to net income of USD 375 million a year ago. Basic loss per share from continuing operations was USD 1.72 compared to basic earnings per share from continuing operations of USD 2.4 a year ago. Diluted loss per share from continuing operations was USD 1.72 compared to diluted earnings per share from continuing operations of USD 2.37 a year ago.
For the six months, sales was USD 1,502 million compared to USD 1,910 million a year ago. Net loss was USD 246 million compared to net income of USD 391 million a year ago. Basic loss per share from continuing operations was USD 1.58 compared to basic earnings per share from continuing operations of USD 2.52 a year ago. Diluted loss per share from continuing operations was USD 1.58 compared to diluted earnings per share from continuing operations of USD 2.46 a year ago.
Tronox Holdings plc is a producer of titanium products, including titanium dioxide pigment, specialty-grade titanium dioxide products and high-purity titanium chemicals, and zircon. The Company mines titanium-bearing mineral sands and operates upgrading facilities that produce high-grade titanium feedstock materials, pig iron and other minerals, including the rare earth-bearing mineral, monazite. Its nine pigment facilities located in the United States, Australia, Brazil, United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, China and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Its principal products include TiO2 pigment, Ultrafine Specialty TiO2, Zircon (ZrSiO4), High Purity Pig Iron, Monazite, Feedstock and Titanium Tetrachloride. TiO2 pigment is used in a range of products due to its ability to impart whiteness, brightness and opacity. It produces ultrafine TiO2 at its manufacturing facility in Thann, France. It markets ultrafine TiO2 products under the CristalActiv trademark.
