TOKYO - Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) announced that it has received a notice of temporary suspension of ISO9001 certifications for the company's Kamakura Works (Kamakura-city, Kanagawa Prefecture) from Bureau Veritas Japan Co., Ltd., effective January 17, in connection with improper quality control practices regarding Electronic Toll Collection System (ETC) equipment that were announced on December 23, 2021.

Mitsubishi Electric is currently taking corrective actions to enable the certifications to be promptly reinstated. The ISO 9001 certification (ISO:2015/JIS Q 9001:2015; Certificate / Reference number -4597758) is an international standard for quality management systems. JIS Q 9100 certifications for the Work's quality-management systems for aerospace and defense industry products remain in place.
