A reporting back meeting of the Volga-Kama Regional Branch of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences was held on the premises of "Aznakaevskneft" Oil and Gas Production Board of JSC TATNEFT in Aznakaevo (Republic of Tatarstan).
The meeting was attended by eminent scientists, doctors of science and professors from Moscow and the cities of the Volgo-Kama Region, as well as managers and senior staff of a number of the structural divisions of JSC TATNEFT.
Nail Ibragimov, Ph.D., Deputy General Director for Production - Chief Engineer of the Company, welcomed the audience on behalf of JSC TATNEFT. In his speech, he presented the results of JSC TATNEFT's activities and pointed out that the past year was both rigorous and successful from the standpoint of performing the tasks assigned. The Ashalchinskoye extra-viscous oil field development project was being implemented, where they produced 237,000 tons of oil in 2014. The total production volume since the beginning of the field pilot operation exceeded 562,000 tons.
A milestone event for the Company was the beginning of commercial operation of the combined hydrocracking installation at the TANECO complex. Today, the Refining Complex produces such highly competitive and environmentally friendly products as Euro-5 diesel fuel and aviation kerosene of RT, TS-1 and Jet A-1 grades. Construction of the oil deep refining plant is in progress and the intensive work is underway at the delayed coking unit erection site.
A large amount of work was carried out at JSC TATNEFT in the area of substituting foreign crude oil production technologies and equipment with domestic production analogues. As a result of the efforts there are original technical solutions of the Company's professionals having absolute novelty and protection by Russian patents for inventions.
The past decade witnessed significant progress in the development of the oilfield equipment components, as well as chemicals and technologies of their application. Application of domestic equipment in the project of the EVO field development is expanding. At the same time, as Nail Ibragimov emphasized, the work in this area should be continued and the scientists should be working in close cooperation with the oilmen.
Renat Muslimov, Chairman of the Regional Branch of the Academy of Natural Sciences, State Advisor to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Academician, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, gave an assessment in his speech to the state of hydrocarbons' production in Russia and abroad, pointed out  difficulties and named the advantages of the Russian oilmen.
Presentations on relevant topics concerning various issues of crude oil production and development of oil fields were offered to the attention of the scientists and oilmen. The participants of the meeting pointed out the importance of further study of the issues raised.
